While launched publicly on December 14th 2016, the Blockchain Association of Ireland began almost a year earlier as an informal discussion group hosted by Dr. Paul Ennis of the Quinn Business School. We were an eclectic panel comprising academics, programmers, bitcoin entrepreneurs, journalists and consultants to the finance and insurance industries. It was decided that the best way to make meaningful progress would be to form non-profit and member-led association that will facilitate industry-streamed workgroups, seminars, and training.

Membership is open to all who have an interest to learn more and contribute to the evolution of Blockchain and Ireland’s leading place as a hub for innovation.

The Association is organising a Blockchain conference – DEEPGREEN 2017 – in Dublin, Ireland in May 2017.
